30% of Healthcare Staff in US Remain Unvaccinated

The rate of vaccination healthcare staff in US increased from 36% to 60% in January. However, the rates slowed down considerably with 30% of healthcare personnel Unvaccinated. Report revealed that the vaccination rates among the healthcare personnel working in children’s hospital and metropolitan areas remain higher.

The uptake of covid-19 vaccine rapidly increased in early 2021 but slowly the rate decreased in second half of the year. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Unified Hospital Data Surveillance System that analysed the data collected from January to September found that nearly 30% employees working in hospitals remain Unvaccinated.

The analysis for vaccination rates ranged for evaluating the data collected from children’s hospitals, critical access hospitals and hospitals that provide short-term and long term care. The religious non-medical facilities, phsychiatric and the hospitals made for rehabilitation were not evaluated in the analysis.The hospitals that were evaluated included those that come in rural as well as metropolitan hospitals. The date showed that employee working at children’s hospitals are vaccinated more near 70%, employee in hospitals that provide short-term and long-term care were vaccinated neary 70.01% and 68%. And, 64% of employees working in critical access hospitals were vaccinated stated the data analysis.

Report revealed that the vaccination rates among the healthcare personnel working in children’s hospital and metropolitan areas remain higher.
